Full-Day Serengeti Tour

Overview
Explore a savannah landscape of crocodile-filled rivers, grassy plains, and baobab trees on a full-day tour to UNESCO-listed Serengeti National Park from Mwanza. Watch for wildlife on morning and afternoon game drives and have a picnic in the park, on a guided trip that includes hotel transfer, breakfast, lunch, and entrance fees.
What to Expect
Get an early start with 5am pickup from your Mwanza hotel, then drive to the Ndabaka entrance gate to Serengeti National Park.

After a short break for breakfast outside the gates, begin the first game drive in the day in the park’s western corridor, where seasonal wildlife migrations of wildebeest are funneled through a narrow stretch of land. Drive along the Grumet River, finding crocodiles hunt zebras and herbivores at the water’s edge. Watch for the pods of hippos that ‘yawn’ at the surface of the river, and look for signs of large cats and predators.

The annual migration of wildebeest, zebras, and gazelles through Serengeti National Park contributed to the park’s inclusion as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, but the Serengeti is also home to four threatened or endangered species: some visitors spot the cheetahs, black rhino, wild dogs, and elephants that live within the reserve, and the ‘Big Five’ are common here.

Pause for a picnic lunch inside the park, then spend the afternoon on a second game drive—different animals come to hunt, drink, and graze at different times, so the view changes throughout the day. Following the afternoon game drive, begin the return trip to Mwanza. This tour concludes with drop-off at your hotel.
